PAR Levels in India Expect to Rise in Short-term

Fifty nine financial service providers responded to the Barometer Forecast survey, providing projections for the quarter ending December 2017. These financial service providers report that client-indebtedness is their primary concern for risk in the coming quarter. Respondents also expect Portfolio-at-Risk (PAR) levels to increase in the short term, though predict it will decline over the next twelve months. For the latter time period, the non-banking financial institutions (NBFC-MFIs) expect to recover faster than the small finance banks while NGO-MFIs expect their risk levels to be constant.
