Micol Pistelli
As Director of Social Performance, Micol is responsible for leading the strategy of MIX’s social performance program, managing the team of social performance analysts, performing analysis and training stakeholders on MFIs’ social performance. She is also a steering committee member of the Social Performance Task Force, where she coordinates the efforts of standardizing social performance indicators for the microfinance industry. She is also a lecturer at the Master in Microcredits for Development at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain.
Prior to MIX, Micol worked in microfinance programs at the Italian Embassy in Egypt and at Fundación Paraguaya in Paraguay. She also worked on youth and women’s programs at the Department of Development Cooperation at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Micol has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Bologna in Italy and a master’s degree in International Economics and International Development from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington DC.
Micol speaks Italian, English, Spanish, French, and basic Arabic.
