2006 Central America Microfinance Benchmarking and Trends Report 2004-2006 - English
The 2006 Benchmarking Report finds that Central American microfinance institutions continued to gain better access to commercial funding sources, lower operating costs, increase efficiencies, and improve loan portfolio quality. However, they still face considerable challenges to match performance levels found in the rest of Latin America in some key areas.
This report analyses 68 microfinance institutions in six Central American countries and presents the latest and most thorough analysis available on the state of the Central American microfinance market. MIX and REDCAMIF present three-year market performance trends for the first time and examine several new peer groups. This report is also available in Spanish.
