The Microfinance Information Exchange, Inc., a business information and data services provider for the global microfinance industry, released their annual rankings of microfinance institutions (MFIs). Now in its third year, The MIX Global 100 ranks MFIs using a number of criteria, including outreach, efficiency and transparency. This year’s rankings are based on financial data from 2008, the most recent data available.
This report, produced by MIX and CGAP, explores the themes of market structure, credit risk, currency risk, funding risk, and policy trends as they pertain to the microfinance industry in the five sub-regions of ECA: the Balkans, Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Russia.
Offers analysis based on data from 51 Mexican microfinance institutions (MFIs) in comparison with other MFIs across Latin America and the Caribbean region.

MBB No. 19 provides global data set of microfinance institutional performance at onset of economic crisis

WASHINGTON D.C., January 21, 2010 – The Microfinance Information Exchange, Inc., a business information and data services provider for the global microfinance industry, announced the release of the latest issue of The MicroBanking Bulletin, the industry journal of microfinance performance.
The 2009 Kosovo Microfinance Analysis & Benchmarking Report was produced by MIX and the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Kosovo (AMIK). This report analyzes developments in the legal and regulatory environment and financial performance of microfinance in Kosovo and includes benchmarks comparing 7 MFIs in Kosovo to regional peers.
The Microfinance Information Exchange has released new reports in Spanish covering recent developments in microfinance in Bolivia and Colombia.
The 2009 Colombia Microfinance Sector Analysis is the first report of its kind from MIX. This report analyzes microfinance in Colombia by loan type and examines the evolution of key indicators in the country’s microfinance industry. The report is based on data collected from 18 microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Colombia.
This year marks the 5th consecutive year of reports on Peruvian MFIs

The 2009 Peru Microfinance Analysis & Benchmarking Report is now available online in Spanish.
This year’s report includes discussion of the effect rendered on Peruvian microfinance institutions (MFIs) by the international financial crisis. Benchmarks are based on 2008 data collected from 60 MFIs and trendlines are based on 2006-2008 data collected from 35 MFIs in Peru.
