More Great New Features for MIX Market!Features include product segmentation
We continue to add new features and enhancements to MIX Market to provide you with comprehensive access to the deepest database on microfinance performance. The newest features now available for your use include:
Segmentation: You can now access details about the product line break down of an MFI, segmented by product type – deposit or credit. This advance detail can provide insight into how other MFIs in your market are performing, the customers they are targeting and even potential challenges they may face. Information that has never been available before now includes:
1. Loan Type: segmented by consumption, mortgage, microenterprise. This can help you understand an MFI’s product mix and market segment. With competition increasing in a given sector, how have MFIs diversified their loan products? Are they offering more consumptive loans as banks increase their microenterprise loan offerings?
2. Deposits: segmented by voluntary and compulsory, and voluntary deposits are further segmented by demand and time deposits. Are time deposits outpacing demand deposits, and what does this mean in terms of client demand and need?
3. Borrower information: you now have new ways to segment borrowers, beyond simple gender break-outs. This enhancement provides more detailed information on market segmentation and economic sectors of an MFI.
4. Number of Outstanding Loan data: another enhancement that provides details on MFI risk levels.

Benchmarks: Now you can create your own benchmark reports from the data on MIX Market. Benchmarks are a great way to view aggregated data in median values to get a view of the industry and specific markets. You select region or country and peer groups –charter type, outreach, scale, profit status, and more –to create the data set that is most meaningful to you. You can either print out an easy to read report or you can download the data to an Excel file for your use.

Customizable Reports: And don’t forget that you can create your own, customizable reports for an MFI. These reports are easy to create and easy to read, and show how an MFI stacks up against others in peer groups that you select yourself. You can also run a report to illustrate changes in performance over time. These are great to use with stakeholders, including board members, managers, and staff.

Coming Soon – Spanish and French: Soon you will have your choice of languages when you access MIX Market. In the next three months, MIX Market will be available in both French and Spanish, and we will continue to add other languages, including Russian.
